Providence Hills is a community where residents know their neighbors and look out for each other. Residents take part in a Mecklenburg County Neighborhood Watch group.

Neighbors report suspicious people and events in the community to the Neighborhood Watch policemen. Several streets have block captains and the recently-established Neighborhood Watch group is looking into hosting informational and fun events for the community.
